Effect of S, P and Zn nutrition on dry matter yield and quality of forage sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench)

In a pot experiment in sandy loam soil, sorghum HC-171 was given 0, 20, 40 or 60 mg S, 0, 30, 60 or 90 mg P and 0, 5 or 20 mg Zn/kg soil. The DM yields increased with up to 20 mg S, 60 mg P and 5 mg Zn. S x P, P x Zn and S x Zn interactions were significant for DM yield. Protein and protein-N concn increased with up to 40 mg S and 5 mg Zn. P application decreased protein, protein-N and protein-S concn.
