Effect of drying regime on volatile oil and microflora of aromatic plants

Seven herb species were harvested and immediately dried at temperatures between 40 and 100 degrees C for 24 h. The dried material was then steam distilled. The volatile oil contents decreased with increasing temperature and this was also accompanied by changes in oil composition.
