Effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and Rhizobium inoculation on yield and quality, N and P uptake and economics of blackgram (Phaseolus mungo)

In a field experiment during the rainy season of 1990 at Junagadh, Gujarat, black gram was seed inoculated with Rhizobium or not inoculated and given 10, 20 or 30 kg N and 20, 40 or 60 kg P2O5/ha. Seed inoculation increased seed yield (471 vs. 434 kg/ha). Seed yield increased with up to 20 kg N (464 kg) and 40 kg P2O5 (475 kg). N and P uptakes and seed protein content increased with increasing N and P rates.
