Effect of radiation with 50Co-gamma rays on storage of barley seeds

Dry barley Lupi No. 1 seeds were irradiated with 279.9 Gy gamma-rays and stored for 0, 10, 21, 51, 82 and 105 days. Cytological analysis showed that during the 105-d storage period, the chromosome aberration frequency and micronucleus rate of root-tip cells of barley seeds changed as undulatory curves, with a general trend of increase which may be related to the mechanism of chromosome aberration.
