Effect of rainfall regime on falling number values in triticale

In field trials in Cordoba, Argentina in 1987-89, 10 cultivars and lines of triticale originating from Mexico and Argentina were sown in late May and harvested in Dec. The effect was analysed of rainfall at harvest, between anthesis and harvest and throughout the growth cycle on the falling number (FN), an indirect test for alpha -amylase activity which is associated with pre-harvest sprouting.
