In trials on peat soil at the Ivatsevich Experimental Land Reclamation Station in 1976-92, grass/legume, short-term grass and long-term grass mixtures were sown in 1976. The long-term mixture was used for 10 years; the other mixtures were either used for 10 years or used for 4 years, then cultivated and sown with a vetch/oats mixture in 1981, and resown with the original mixtures under a cover crop of Lolium multiflorum in 1982. The resown mixtures continued to be used until 1992.
