Effect of relative humidity during fruit development on muskmelon fruit quality

Melon Galia plants, pruned to bear one fruit each, were grown hydroponically under controlled environmental conditions. Developing fruits were enclosed and subjected to 2 RH treatments (22 or 89%), maintained from 12 days after anthesis up to harvesting at the incipient slip stage. Fruits were cold-stored at 5 degrees C for 26 days directly after harvesting, followed by 2 days at 18 degrees , before quality was evaluated.
