Effect of residual medium on Catharanthus roseus callus and suspension cell culture

Effect of residual medium on Catharanthus roseus callus and suspension cell culture

Plant Physiology Communications 29(3): 185-187

Chemical analysis of the residual medium (following culture and cell isolation) showed that it contained 0.5% sugar and 20 micro g/ml of total alkaloid. The basic growth medium SH (Schenk and Hildebrandt) contained 2,4-D at 0.5 mg, kinetin at 5.0 mg, biotin at 0.1 mg, Vitamin B1 at 10 mg, Vitamin B6 at 5 mg and sucrose at 30 g/litre (medium A) and was used for solid callus or cell suspension culture.
