Effect of rootstock on growth and fruit quality of 'Otani Iyokan' (Citrus iyo Hort ex Tanaka)

Fourteen Citrus rootstocks were tested for use with the less vigorous C. iyo scion Otani Iyokan over 13 years. The growth of the trees on the different rootstocks was classified into vigorous (Shiikuwasha sour orange, rough lemon, natsudaidai, Fukuhara orange, natsudaidai x Poncirus trifoliata No. 576 and Cleopatra mandarin) and weak (Yuzu (C. junos), Carrizo citrange, P. trifoliata, Troyer citrange and Hiryo (alias Flying Dragon, also P. trifoliata)).
