Effect of scarification with sulphuric acid on the germination of Brachiaria humidicola (Rendle) Schweick seeds

Seven B. humidicola seed lots from different parts of Sao Paulo state, Brazil, were assessed before storage for germination capacity and responses to accelerated aging (42 degrees C for 48 h) and cold tests (10 degrees for 7 d), with or without scarification with sulfuric acid for 10 minutes. Germination capacity was also assessed every 2 months during the 12-month storage period, with and without acid scarification.
