The effect of age, plant stage, season and plant growth regulators (NAA, kinetin and 2,4-D) on the concentrations of secondary metabolites in medicinal plants is discussed with reference to Azadirachta indica (1-, 2-, 4- and 20-year-old trees), Andrographis paniculata (plants), Rauvolfia serpentina (plants) and Catharanthus roseus (plants and callus).
