Effect of seed size and plumpness on yield of spring triticale cv. Jago

In field trials on good rye complex soil at Lipki and good wheat complex soil at Ostoja in 1986-88, triticale Jago was grown from unsorted commercial seed or from plump or shrivelled seed sorted into 3 size classes (>2.8, 2.5-2.8 and <2.5 mm). Final emergence from unsorted seed was 80.8 and 77.4% at the 2 sites, respectively. At Lipki, emergence from sorted seeds ranged from 68.1% from small shrivelled seeds to 84.5% from large plump seeds.
