Effect of seed weight and protein content on some morphological traits of wheat seedlings

Effect of seed weight and protein content on some morphological traits of wheat seedlings

Selekcija i Semenarstvo 2(2): 173-176

In greenhouse tests with 8 varieties differing in 1000-grain weight and grain protein content, in which seed from each variety was divided into 4 size fractions, there was a positive correlation between protein content and shoot to root ratio in the seedlings. Seedling height was correlated with protein content and seed weight. KG56 had the fewest and Zadruga the most roots. Skopljanka had the longest roots and Beograanka the shortest.
