Effect of seeding date and fall harvest method on the growth characteristics, forage yield and quality of winter rye

In field experiments at Suweon, in 1992-93, rye was sown early (5 Sep.), mid (25 Sep.) or late (10 Oct.) and was unutilized, grazed or cut in autumn. There was a 3-day difference in the 1st heading date between no utilization and autumn grazing and a 6-day difference between early and late sowing dates. CP content of rye with autumn grazing was slightly higher (mean 16.5%) compared with autumn cutting and no utilization.
