Effect of seeding date on nutrient removal and yield of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata)

In a field trial at Rahuri, Maharashtra in the 1990 rainy season, seed yield of cowpeas decreased from 1.66 to 0.68 t/ha as sowing date was delayed from 1 June to 10 July, and averaged 1.40, 1.26 and 1.19 t/ha in V 240, GC 82-7 and VCM 8, respectively.
