Effect of seeding methods, varieties and nitrogen levels on yield and yield attributes of deep water rice

In a field experiment during the rainy season of 1992 at Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, 4 rice cultivars were direct sown or transplanted and given 30, 60 or 90 kg N. Grain yield was higher with direct sowing than transplanting (2.41 vs. 1.99 t/ha) and was highest with 90 kg N (2.43 t).
