Effect of selection on pea (Pisum sativum L.) seed quality

Effect of selection on pea (Pisum sativum L.) seed quality

Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira 29(2): 309-313

Pea Kodama and Juma seeds produced in the experimental fields of the Brazilian National Vegetable Research Centre, Distrito Federal, in 1990 were classified by size and colour (cv. Kodama) or relative density (cv. Juma). Seed size did not affect seed quality. Germination percentage and emergence were significantly lower in the lowest density class, while 1000-seed weight and purity decreased with decreasing density.
