Effect of short term exposure of commercial BHC on egg and egg of duck (Anas sp.)

Effect of short term exposure of commercial BHC on egg and egg of duck (Anas sp.)

Journal of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Monitoring 4(1): 45-50

In laboratory studies, ducks were given low doses of BHC intravenously and their electrocardiogram (ECG) and electroencephalogram (EEG) were monitored simultaneously, showing the direct effect of the pesticide on the heart and brain. The ECG exhibited the quick passage of impulses from the SA node, a change in auricular size, incomplete sino-atrial block, incomplete atrio-ventricular block, right and left bundle branch block and shortening of the resting polarized state of the heart.
