In field trials in 1986-88 on clay loam soil at Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, berseem (Trifolium alexandrinum) was given a water spray (control), 100, 225 or 350 g simazine/ha after the 1st cut at 60 d after sowing (DAS), 200, 450 or 700 g simazine/ha applied 50% at 60 DAS + 50% at 85 DAS and 20 or 30 kg N/ha. Application of 225 g simazine at 60 DAS gave the highest forage yield in both years (30.2 and 29.0 t/ha).
