Effect of simulated weather-damage on germination and microbiological quality of soybean seeds

In order to simulate freeze damage, paraquat was sprayed onto plants of soyabean cultivars Beeson, Williams 79 and Century to arrest growth at 3 different stages of seed development. The sprayed plants were allowed to desiccate in the field for about one week and were then harvested. Control plants were not sprayed and allowed to desiccate in the field naturally.
