Seedling Zizyphus mauritiana var. rotundifolia (Ziziphus rotundifolia) plants and budded plants of Z. mauritiana cultivars Banarasi Karaka, Kaithali, Umran and Gola were grown in clay pots in soil containing either exchangeable sodium percentages (ESP) of 9.0 (control), 38.8 or 60.5 (NaHCO3 added), or EC values of 0.82 (control), 14.8 or 20.25 dS/m (CaCl2, MgCl2, NaCl2 and Na2SO4 added).
