Effect of soil ameliorants on production potential of gram (Cicer arietinum) in salt-affected environment and their residual effect on pearlmillet (Pennisetum glaucum)

Effect of soil ameliorants on production potential of gram (Cicer arietinum) in salt-affected environment and their residual effect on pearlmillet (Pennisetum glaucum)

Indian Journal of Agronomy 40(2): 313-316

In a field experiment on a saline soil in 1988-91 in Rajasthan, C. arietinum RSG 2 was supplied with 0, 2 or 4 t gypsum/ha or 0, 10 or 20 t FYM/ha, once only at the beginning of the experiment. P. glaucum WCC 75 was grown on the same plots after C. arietinum. Mean seed yields of C. arietinum at the 3 gypsum rates were 0.79, 0.95 and 1.11 t/ha, compared with 0.86, 0.96 and 1.03 t with FYM, respectively.
