Effect of soil amendments with and without water stress conditions on transplanted rice

In a longterm field trial from kharif 1988 to rabi 1991/92 at Uchani, Haryana, rice Jaya was grown with or without water stress on ground where 5 t rice husk, gypsum, FYM or Sesbania aculeata green manure had been applied after final puddling before transplanting. In the water stress treatment irrigation was withheld for 12 d during maximum tillering stage (50 d after transplanting).
