Effect of soil applied MET (multi-effects triazole) on growth, fruiting and some physiological parameters in Chinese bayberry (Myrica rubra)

Effect of soil applied MET (multi-effects triazole) on growth, fruiting and some physiological parameters in Chinese bayberry (Myrica rubra)

Acta Agriculturae Zhejiangensis 6(1): 27-31

M. rubra is prone to delayed fruiting and biennial bearing. It is suggested that the main causes of this problem, in addition to the well-recognized restriction of flower bud formation by excessive vegetative growth, is the coincidence of peak flowering with spring vegetative bud break and root growth. This seriously affects source-sink relations and results in nutrient deficiency, flower abscission and poor yields.
