Effect of soil composition on in-vitro persistence of phenamiphos in soil

Soil composition, particularly clay and organic matter greatly affected the persistence of fenamiphos in soil in vitro at 31 +or- 1 degrees C. The initial deposits of fenamiphos analyzed 24 h after application at 10 micro g/g were 9.14-9.37 in clay amended soil, 6.75-7.1 in sandy soil and 8.71-8.90 micro g/g in soil amended with organic matter. This compared with 7.94 micro g/g in control soil.
