Effect of soil conditioners on the infiltration rate of an alluvial soil

Effect of soil conditioners on the infiltration rate of an alluvial soil

Conserving soil resources: European perspectives Selected papers from the First International Congress of the European Society for Soil Conservation: 398-404

The effect of additions of phosphogypsum (PPG) at 4 t/ha and/or anionic polycrilamide (PAM) at 10 kg/ha on the infiltration rates was studied using a Xerofluvent soil and simulated rainfall. The combined effect of PPG and PAM was to triple the final infiltration rates relative to the controls, and to double infiltration by a sequential application of PAM, a 4 wk interval, then a PPG application.
