Effect of soil conservation practices and slope lengths on runoff, soil loss and yield of vegetables in West Java

Effect of soil conservation practices and slope lengths on runoff, soil loss and yield of vegetables in West Java

Australian Journal of Soil and Water Conservation 7(3): 25-29

Research undertaken to find appropriate soil and water conservation programmes (SWCP) for vegetable growing areas in West Java is described and compared with the situation in NSW Australia. A study was conducted over 2 growing seasons at Citere, Java on well drained Hydric Dystrandept soils, where annual average erosivity is 24 500 MJ/mm/ha/hr per yr, and terraced plot slopes were 30%.
