Effect of soil solarization on the population of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita and growth of tomato plants

The effect of soil solarization with single and double, clear and black polyethylene sheets was studied on the population of Meloidogyne incognita and on the growth of tomato plants. Solarization with double clear sheets caused the maximum reduction of nematode population (84.11%) whereas solarization with double black, single clear and single black sheets reduced nematode population by 80.96, 75.51 and 70.46% resp.
