Effect of some agrotechnical and environmental factors on seed germination and field emergence of selected crops

In trials in the Poznan district in 1986-88, winter rye, winter triticale, winter rape and sugarbeet were grown on light, medium or heavy soil with low, medium or high salinity (KCl) levels. Field emergence of rye and triticale decreased with increasing soil density and salinity; emergence of rape and sugarbeet was best at the medium density and low-medium salinity. Seedling FW followed a similar pattern.
