Effect of some citrus rootstocks on the yield and quality of the 'Washington Navel' orange variety in Adana (Turkey) conditions

Effect of some citrus rootstocks on the yield and quality of the 'Washington Navel' orange variety in Adana (Turkey) conditions

Proceedings of the International Society of Citriculture: Volume 1 Taxonomy, breeding and varieties, rootstocks and propagation, plant physiology and ecology: 7th International Citrus Congress, Acireale, Italy, 8-13 March, 1992: 270-274

Ten rootstocks were assessed in a trial planted in 1982. Yield and fruit quality were recorded in 1987-90. Cumulative yield on Citrus volkameriana was highest compared with the other rootstocks. C. volkameriana also gave large fruits with a low juice content and a thick rind. Benecke (Poncirus trifoliata) and C. taiwanica produced small fruit size but Benecke gave the highest juice content and TSS. Fruit colour was best on Cleopatra mandarin, Troyer citrange and citrumelo 1452.
