Studies made on natural regeneration of Pinus sylvestris, 15 years old in various forest types, showed that infection by the fungus Hypodermella sulcigena (Lophodermella sulcigena) had an adverse effect on the current height increment. Infection by L. sulcigena was greatest 10 m from high-voltage electricity lines, less in trees directly beneath the lines, and decreased with increasing distance from the lines (50 and 100 m).
