Effect of sowing date on curd and seed yields in 4 cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) cultivars

Seeds of Snowball-type cauliflower cultivars were sown in Jan., Feb. and Mar. sowing dates and 2 winter cultivars (Early Paris and CO34) were sown in May., June and July. In the Snowball cultivars, the vegetative period was lengthened and the curd formation period shortened with later sowing dates. Greater curd and seed yields were obtained with the Jan. and Mar. sowing dates than with the Feb. one.
