Effect of sowing dates and abiotic factors on incidence of safflower aphid Uroleucon compositae (Theobald)

Low incidence of Uroleucon compositae was found in September-sown safflower in Maharashtra, India, while moderate and severe infestation occurred in crops sown between mid-September and mid-October. Heavy incidence of the aphid caused complete drying of the crop. Infestation began in the last week of November 1989, reached a peak in January 1990, and then declined.
