Effect of sowing rate on grain yield size and structure in spring barley of the six-rowed compared with the two-rowed type

The 6-rowed variety Klimek was compared with the 2-rowed Dema and Rudzik in 2 sets of field trials during 1991-93 for response to 3-4 sowing rates and (in one set of trials) 4 nitrogen fertilizer regimes. In terms of grain yield and its components, Klimek showed a somewhat more marked response to sowing rate than the 2-rowed types, but was similar to them in response to nitrogen regime.
