Effect of sowing rate on the yield of spring triticale and its mixtures with yellow lupin

In field trials on good rye complex soil in the Bydgoszcz district in 1990-92, triticale Maja was sown at 135, 270, 405 or 540 seeds/msuperscript 2, alone or with 100 seeds/msuperscript 2 of Lupinus luteus Topaz. Average grain yields of triticale in pure stands were 3.99, 4.35, 4.95 and 5.52 t/ha at the 4 sowing rates, respectively. The response to sowing rate was greatest in 1990, when precipitation was near the long-term average, and least in the dry year 1992.
