In a field experiment at the National Honam Agricultural Experiment Station in 1993-94, 1000-grain weight and ripe grain percentage were highest with sowing on May 10 and May 25 for all 3 rice cultivars, whereas optimum sowing date for maximum grain yield was May 9, May 13 and May 15 for Dongjinbyeo, Hwaseongbyo and Sinunbongbyeo, respectively.
