In order to evaluate the effects of chronic protein loading on urinary albumin excretion (UAE) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR), 45 diabetic WBN/Kob rats aged 8 months were given 15 g per day of 5, 20 and 40% protein diets from different sources for 9 weeks. Codfish, pork and soyabean were used as the protein source and 9 kinds of diets were made.
