Effect of soyabean whey protein on skin tumours in mice

Effect of soyabean whey protein on skin tumours in mice

Nutritional Science of Soy Protein Japan 13(1): 76-79

The effect of soyabean whey protein on skin tumour promotion was studied by the two-stage carcinogenesis method. Mice were given SPI (Fuji-pro R) diet or SPI diet supplemented with soyabean whey protein. After a week on the diets, the hair of the mice was shaved and tumour initiator was applied. The tumour promoter was then applied twice a week on the same area of the skin throughout the experiment.
