Effect of soybean phospholipids on plasma and liver lipids in rats

Effect of soybean phospholipids on plasma and liver lipids in rats

Journal of the Chinese Nutrition Society 19(4): 369-377

A 6-week feeding trial was conducted to study the possible cholesterol-lowering effects of soya phospholipids (PL) in 3-month old healthy Sprague-Dawley rats with an initial weight of about 235 g. The effects of soya PL on liver lipids and other plasma lipids were also studied. Experimental diets contained: no PL or cholesterol (CS); no PL and 1% CS; 6% PL and 1% CS; or 12% PL and 1% CS.
