Effect of spacing on seed and oil yield and other important agronomic traits of sunflowers

In field trials in 1989 in Osijek, Croatia, sunflowers OS-H-5 and OS-H-8 were grown at row spacings of 50, 60 or 70 cm with 18 within-row spacings between 18 and 67 cm. Spacing had a significant effect on seed yield, oil content, oil yield, 1000-seed weight, hectolitre weight, head diameter and plant height.
