Effect of spraying growth retardants and ringing on the duration of the juvenile stage of apple seedlings

Experiments were carried out with 26-month-old seedlings derived from the cultivar cross Gala x Fuji, using the compounds PP333 and B9 at different concentrations, and/or ethylene. Controls were untreated. Seedlings were sprayed in late May and then once a week, giving a total of 4 sprays; as a comparative treatment ringing was carried out on 30 May.
