In a field experiment in 1987-89 at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, L. usitatissimum R 17 and T 397 (early maturing, 115-120 d) and Mukta and Neelum (135-140 d) were given 0-80 kg N/ha, and harvested at 5-d intervals starting from 20 d after heading (DAH) until 45 DAH. Optimum harvest dates for seed, oil and protein yields were 30-37 DAH for the early maturing cultivars and 33-38 DAH for the medium maturing cultivars.
