Mean oligosaccharide levels, determined by TLC in colostrum and milk samples obtained from 6 cows and 6 buffaloes respectively, decreased throughout lactation from 20.3 and 26.0 mg/dl in colostrum on day 1 to 14.7 and 17.23 mg/dl in early lactation (up to day 100), 11.1 and 14.8 mg/dl in mid lactation (days 101 to 200) and 8.7 and 10.23 in late lactation (from day 200).
