Effect of stocking density on water intake and physiological reactions of Murrah buffalo heifers

A study was carried out on 20 Murrah buffalo heifers to study the effect of stocking density on water intake and physiological reactions of Murrah buffalo heifers providing: (i) floor and manger space 20% above, BIS recommendations; (ii) floor and manger space 20% below, BIS recommendations; and (iii) floor and manger space 100% BIS recommendations (control). The daily voluntary water intake was 26.36, 25.00 and 26.22 units in the three groups, respectively, without any significant effect.
