Effect of stocking rate on growth performance, carcass traits and meat quality of male Peking ducks

Effect of stocking rate on growth performance, carcass traits and meat quality of male Peking ducks

Tropenlandwirt 94(October): 147-156

From 2 weeks old, 240 male Pekin ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) were stocked at 2, 4, 6 and 8 in floor pens, or at 4, 8, 12 and 16 ducks/msuperscript 2 in cages. Feeding and drinking spaces were equal, regardless of stocking rate, and the ducks were given conventional mash diets. At 10 weeks old, 8 ducks from each group were slaughtered for estimating carcass composition and quality.
