Effect of storage in different regions on seed quality in Setaria sphacelata cv. Kazungula

In field trials in Brazil in 1982-86, seed of S. sphacelata Kazungula collected in Senador Canedo, Goias up to 38 d after flowering was dried in the shade to 10.4% moisture content before being stored in cotton sacks under ambient conditions at 2 sites in Tocantins and 3 sites in Goias. Germination percentage after storage for 3 months ranged from 81% in Anapolis to 43% in Araguaina with corresponding values of 65% and 9%, respectively, after storage for 12 months.
