Effect of storage on some nutritional qualities of soya beans

Mixed bulk varieties of soyabeans were fumigated with phostoxin tablets and stored for 12 months at room temperature (28 degrees C) in whole, dehulled and powdered forms in airtight plastic containers, polyethylene-lined woven polypropylene bags or ordinary woven polypropylene bags. Data are tabulated on changes in moisture content, mould colony counts and protein contents during storage. The fungal species isolated during storage are listed and insect infestation is indicated.
