Effect of strain and substrate on development of oyster mushroom mycelium

Effect of strain and substrate on development of oyster mushroom mycelium

Selekcija i Semenarstvo 2(2): 239-241

Two Pleurotus ostreatus strains were inoculated on 6 different substrates in tests during 1993-94. Strain NS16 produced mycelium of the best quality on proso millet and on proso millet + sawdust; mycelium acceptable for commercial production was also obtained on wheat and wheat + proso millet substrates. Strain H7 produced the best mycelium on millet + sawdust and wheat + sawdust, while millet and wheat substrates were also commercially acceptable.
