Effect of strangulation date on reproductive phase of young pummelo trees grown in a plastic house

Effect of strangulation date on reproductive phase of young pummelo trees grown in a plastic house

Japanese Journal of Tropical Agriculture 38(4): 269-280

Two-year-old pummelo Tosa Buntan trees, grafted on Poncirus trifoliata rootstocks planted in 100-litre pots, were grown in a plastic house. Trees were ringed using a 1.6-mm-diameter wire, applied 15 cm above the graft union at a tension of 30 kgf.cm, for 2 months, commencing in Aug., Sep., Oct. or Nov. 1990. The degree of recovery of the girdle formed by the ringing treatment was high, except for the Aug. treatment.
