Effect of sublethal concentrations of cypermethrin, quinalphos, phosphamidon and endosulfan on oviposition of maize stalk borer, Chilo partellus Swinhoe

Effects of sublethal and normally applied concn of cypermethrin, endosulfan, quinalphos and phosphamidon applied on maize leaf/whorl on the ovipositional response of Chilo partellus were studied. C. partellus were released on treated foliage of potted plants covered with glass chimneys. Cypermethrin at LC20, LC50, LC80 and 0.01% concn exerted profound ovipositional repellent effects as females failed to oviposit on treated maize for a week.
